North Sea Jazz concert

We (my mom, my boyfriend and I) like to go to the North Sea Jazz festival every year but this year I actually forgot to buy tickets! I was so disappointed mainly in myself, because we really wanted to go. Months later we found out it wasn’t going to happen for anyone, because of COVID-19 the festival like many other festivals, was cancelled.

A little intro for those whom are not familiar with the North Sea Jazz festival, it’s a Jazz, blues, RnB, funk, pop and many more genres music festival. Artist from all over the world come to this festival to perform at The Ahoy, Rotterdam/NL. There are many stages, many areas. A festival won’t be a festival without different foods and beverages that are served. There are shops and art expo’s. It’s a three days festival, but this year there was supposed to be an opening evening, with John Legend as the opening act.

I love this festival because there is such a relaxed, easy going vibe with a wide and diverse crowd. We all let each other just ‘be’ and that is because we just live in the moment.

This year, the organization gave us a little show to watch at home, and it was quite emotional because of the time we live in. It’s roaring and unsafe. The Metropole Orchestra conductor: Jules Buckley, Gregory Porter(singer) on screen, Ibrahim Maalouf(trumpeter/composer), Benjamin Herman(saxophonist), Michelle David (singer), Jamie cullum (singer/songwriter) on screen, Christian Scott(trumpeter), Yola(singer), Akwasi (rapper/word artist), Tini Thomsen(baritone Sax player/composer).
